QScale is building eco-Responsible high-density data processing centers powered by nearly 100% clean and renewable energy, primarily hydro. It offers reliable waste heat recovery-and-reuse initiatives, efficient cooling designs, reduced energy consumption, and free cooling up to 80% of the year due to the extremely cold climate. With an average temperature of -1°C/30°F in Quebec, the province’s climate allows for very coherent cooling designs, reducing energy needs.

QScale campuses offer a broad choice of high-performance network and cloud connectivity options. Multiple providers serve each facility with redundant fiber routes to ensure competitive pricing, rock-solid connectivity, fiber optic systems spanning hundreds of thousands of kilometers, and favorable geography for low latency.

Campus Q01 by QScale is North America’s most extensive computing infrastructure, with flexible liquid & air cooling solutions powered by clean energy. The facility offers 266MVA 2N 120kV electrical substation, low and stable electricity rates: ~4¢ USD / kWh, high-density liquid and air cooling solutions, and accommodates a wide range of computing and cooling technologies for scalable and flexible deployments. It has a unique waste-heat energy recovery and reuse system for various initiatives, including greenhouses. The Q02 facility is under construction on the South shore of Montreal and is expected to be completed soon. 

Recently, QScale announced the appointment of Sylvie Veilleux to its board of directors. Most recently, Veilleux served as the first Chief Information Officer at Dropbox. Veilleux led the IT division at Dropbox from the ground up, developing the organization’s first global strategic and centralized IT function enabling it to expand and scale before and after its IPO. “We’re delighted to have Sylvie join our board of directors to accelerate our international growth. Sylvie has a deep understanding of the global technology scene, having held top management positions at renowned, fast-growing technology firms,” says QScale’s President Martin Bouchard.

Founded in 2018, QScale is growing rapidly and is supported by leading private and institutional investors such as Investissement Québec. After completing its eight phases, Q01 will represent a total investment of C$1.05 billion. The company has accelerated its expansion plans and started construction of Phase 2 at its first campus (Q01) in Lévis, a full year ahead of schedule.
